A Unity Prayer Chaplain supports others on their spiritual journey by:

Creating and holding sacred space.
Lovingly listening to the prayer requests of others.
Praying with others.
Holding all requests in strict confidence.

A Unity Prayer Chaplain is not a counselor or advisor, but simply a spiritual companion who is trained and willing to walk beside others and hold the Truth with them through affirmative prayer.

Can I approach any Chaplain for prayer?
Yes. Any Chaplain will pray with you.

For how long should we pray?
Generally your prayer time with a Chaplain will be about three to five minutes. But, please try and be brief. It is not necessary that a Chaplain know all of the details of your request in order to pray with you. Spirit already knows the fullness of your request. 

Will the Chaplain follow up with me on my prayer request?
No, once the prayer is completed, divine order is in process. You may approach a Chaplain with the results of your prayer if you wish, but please remember, Chaplains do not give counsel or advice. 

What are “Chaplain Calls?”
Chaplain calls are monthly calls initiated by a Chaplain to ask if you wish to pray.  Chaplain calls are one of the benefits of becoming a member of New Thought Unity Center. 

Will the same Chaplain call each month?
Yes. Chaplains make a year long committment to serve beginning in June of each year. Some Chaplains serve year after year for many years, others may serve for one year. 

May I call a Chaplain at home?
No, if you wish to contact a Chaplain for prayer, leave a message at the church number.

What if I need spiritual counseling?
Contact Rev. Doris Hoskins or Rev. George Whitton at the church number. They can provide spiritual counseling.

If I pray with a Chaplain can I submit prayer requests to the Prayer Box?
Yes, you are encouraged to do both.

May I pray with a Chaplain anywhere in the church or only in the sanctuary?
The Chaplains will always be available following the services in the sanctuary.  However, you may pray with a Chaplain in any public area of the church.
