Peace is the Way
What? Another new book by Deepak Chopra? Absolutely true and a timely one at that. Chopra’s latest is entitled Peace is the Way and in this book the author brings the idea of peace into focus as the gentle power over conflict, hatred and despair. He invites us all to bring the vision of peace to the forefront of our individual and collective consciousness, that point where our thoughts will manifest into reality. He asks us to "stop reacting out of fear, to change your allegiance from violence to peace." We are called to bring an end to the idea of war itself as a way of settling differences and seek means to contribute to peace. A perfect read anytime, especially during The Season for Nonviolence from February to April.

Fairy Tails: Sleeping Beauty
Also there are three new books for children (young and old) that are based on familiar stories to us all. Collectively called Fairy Tails, they are retellings of Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White. What really makes them special are the photographic illustrations where all the characters are portrayed by man’s best friend, the four-legged canine, dogs of all sorts. A refreshing new look that will bring a gift of lightness to you and your young friends. Don’t miss them!

Pat Barker, who co-ministered the Center for almost 30 years until retiring, Lin Heald, a truth student and former Center Business Director, and Nancy Whitton, who is a member, a Licensed Unity Teacher and a Unity Chaplain. The book is filled with prayers for every situation, event or circumstance and should be in everyone’s home. There are prayers for health, for family and friends, for daily living, for feelings and emotions and wonderful prayers to be used for ourselves as a personal communion with God. The prayers are so universal in their content that anyone you know, no matter what their belief system might be, will be blessed by this book. Invisible Acts of Power: Personal Choices that Create Miracles
Bestselling author Caroline Myss has a new release called Invisible Acts of Power: Personal Choices that Create Miracles. Her own experience with two small acts of kindness inspired her to muse, "What really takes place when you respond to someone in need?" She found that no matter how small the act may seem to be, the energy that is channeled through that action is the high-voltage current of grace. In this book, Myss explores the seven stages of the practice of compassion and generosity and shows that the choice to do good, to act in the service of others, is as essential to our physical and emotional health as it is to our intuitive development. In fact, she reveals, generosity is a biological and a spiritual necessity. The book includes many first-hand, personal stories from more than twelve hundred letters sent to her Web site. These simple, but profound ways that people connect to create small miracles, gain a greater sense of spirituality, and transform their own - and others' - lives in an instant will inspire you to your own invisible acts of power... and attract them to you. Don't miss this one, it is a treasure!
